'90 760 A/C-Heater quit

Post by volvoaddict007 »

'90 760 Turbo w 270k. A/C-Heater fan has quit twice in the last 2 months. After shutting off the engine and restarting, the system would work fine. Yesterday it refused to come on even after multiple restarts. It also happened to be one of the hottest days of the year in Los Angeles at 97

Don't think so....same system on my 240 and it reads fuel and engine...believe that's it. If you notice only 2 of the plugs have any wiring to them.

The 760 should have Electronic Climate Control which has self-diagnostics built in.

The 240 should have a Manual Climate Control.

Today I could hear the fan running on one of the slower speeds even when the fan speed was on 0 and no air through the vents and the A/C ( blue snowflake and compressor ) wasn't coming on either.

Seems like the ECC has taken a turn for the worst. Does that make sense?

BTW, Hi guys. I've been away for a while. Thanks for the responses.

Turns out that #19 ECC fuse was blown. I can't believe I didn't think of looking for one as I was only thinking about the blower fuse which was OK. So I swapped out an ECC from another car that was known to be functioning correctly.

The fuse is still blowing :? .

Problem solved :P .

A bad fan blower motor was causing the ECC #19 fuse to blow.
