1999 S70 - ID needed on connector and sensor?

What is this hanging off the passenger side front of my car? It may have been damaged when I hit a opossum at 70ish mph.

Outside or ambient temperature sensor , clips to the louvre in the front bumper nose plastic down low. Zip tie it if The clips are broken, looks like you lost one.

Poor little guy.

That is on the RHS of the car, so on my car that one clips into the front under tray on the RHS. That is the ambient temperature sensor as abscate says for the engine.

The louver was gone before I got the car, so the sensor may have been zip tied. It doesn't look quite the same as what's on my 850.
Poor little guy.
I was in a construction zone, at 3am, and he was up against the cement barrier between North and South bound lanes. He waited until the last second to try and cross back over to the shoulder. I didn't see him until it was too late. No time to react.

I thought it looked like it might be a thermistor, but I thought maybe it had to do with the cooling system, and plugged into something. On my 850 the outside temperature sensor is on the driver's side, so I didn't even think about it being that.

The V/S/C70's have 2 outside sensors. Usually one on the LHS which plugs into a hole in the LHS bumper lower grill towards the inner side. That is the outside temp sensor for the dashboard read-out. The 2nd one which is positioned more to the RHS at the front is the engine ambient temperature sensor. It normally plugs into wither the under engine air guide on one side, but I have also seen it go into the side of the main grille aperture into a suitable sized hole for the clip on the end to catch on. It then sits perpendicular to the air flow.

This link has both shown on this owners car:

Then there is the option I have seen on the plastic air guide:

If you see the small paper label on the LHS of the picture, there is an approximately 1/2" hole perpendicular to it. This is where the senso can also fit.

Well, I just checked, and I do not have an air guide anymore. It must have come off with the impact. Sigh, now both my cars lack the air guide.

Can you contact the seller and tell them about their crappy packaging, or ask them not to us UPS for shipping!! I had a radiator delivered from Tasca to Calgary in Canada and they dumped it at the door and ran. They were supposed to get a signature as proof of delivery. The radiator was like a banana and had a 2" out of straight bend in the middle!! I don't even know how you even do that short of driving over it!
