i, too, have a 2004 V70 2.5T w/ ~210K miles. am new to all things car, and having fun with it. i, too, decided to change my fuel filter - as i'm having to replace fuel rail pressure sensor (thanks P0193, thanks ECM-2100).
bought parts, watched videos. felt like... hey i can do this, but after rolling around under the car repeatedly and NOT finding the fuel filter, whelp... i sure felt dumb.
anyhow -
(1) i learned a thing, and it's the same thing you / others have learned, which is that <steel thank = internal filter>.
(2) yes, my car has a steel gas tank, so it's fuel filter is internal, and so i will not be replacing the filter just now.
(3) i've been lurking here for a few months. the site and forum posters are helpful. grateful for the tips!
thanks. onwards.
