I drive a 1997 V90 with a 2.9L 6 cyl..
I recently replaced the radiator along with the upper and lower hose. When I finished the job I ran the car to check for leaks. When I drove the car for a while and achieved normal full operating temperature everything was still fine until I shut the car off. Once I shut the car off about 1.5 to 2.0 liters of coolant vented overboard. This went on for a few days until I did a refill of the reservoir with the heater on full hot with the engine idling for 15-20 minutes at full normal operating temperature.
Did I properly burp my car or is there more I can do to ensure that I do not lose coolant?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
The only other thing you can do is to massage the two big hoses to and from the radiator, but that may not be necessary now.
An important, but often overlooked, thing when draining/refilling the cooling system is to have the heater control on hot. If it is not then an airlock is just about inevitable.
Bill.
