Front right strut on '98 S70

Post by jasonb »

Hi,

I had new struts and shocks installed on my 1998 S70 this weekend (Sachs struts and shocks). I was told by the mehcanic (I always go to an independent) that the front left had some sort of spacer sleeve and the right side did not. This is why I am hearing a major clunk when I go over a bump. Does anyone know what this is or where I can find one? Also, I had the front strut mounts replaced at the same time.
Thank you for your help!
Jason

Did you or your mechanic figure this one out? I'm about to do the same thing and will not be happy if there is so much as a creak out of the front end when I'm done!
'06 XC90 2.5 158k miles
'01 V70 T5 (gone at 268k miles)
'01 XC70 (gone at 90k miles)
'93 850 GLT (gone at 194k miles)
And many a 240, 140 and even a 122 before those
