S40 D 2.0 - no power , black smoke

Hello all,

Seems like turbo takes time to engage or not at all.

I get black smoke from exhaust when rev above 1500.

Engine has no power...

I think I cannot hear the turbo boost noise. (it the past happens that turbo boost hesitates..)

Got Vida connected and here are the results:

There were no other special errors.

Here is a new scan.

1. Cleaned EGR
2. Cleaned MAF with special spray . Plug/unplug does not make any change .
3. It sounds like turbo is moving a little - but not getting enough power.
4. Vacuum module on the back of the head got loosen completely probably cause of vibrations. Tighten it again - with no change .

Only dtc remains

P040500
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) sensor A circuit low, General fault information, No sub type information.

Any suggestions ?

Hello all,
Got my car to garage , and he said engine is not ok.
He did not test for compression , he disconnect injectors plug one at a time , and engine did not turned off. only when disconnecting cyl 3 , the engine turned off. He said that 4 cyl are defected and only one has enough compression is cyl 3.

It is very weird , engine turns on smoothly like a new car , no smog , works like a charm.
Only problem is it does not rave more then 3000 , and seems like no power (turbo does not engage ).
Still error about EGR.

Got another EGR . Does it worth cleaning it and try to replace?
Can EGR cause this problem ?

Hello all.
Took out current EGR - it was almost cloged.
Cleaned the used one I got and installed on my car.

Now , engine starts for one second and then stalls.

There are many errors on the report related to ECM.

Trouble codes list (9)
1. P085086 Park/Neutral switch input circuit, Bus signal/message faults, Signal invalid
2. P245A00 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler bypass control circuit, General fault information on, No sub-type information
4. P020100 Cylinder 1 injector circuit open, General fault information, No sub-type information
5. P020200 Cylinder 2 injector circuit open, General fault information, No sub-type information
6. P020400 Cylinder 4 injector circuit open, General fault information, No sub-type information
7. P020500 Cylinder 5 injector circuit open, General fault information, No sub-type information
8. P020300 Cylinder 3 injector circuit open, General fault information, No sub-type information
9. P085029 Park/Neutral switch input circuit, General signal faults, Signal invalid
