Water Pump?

Post by miznitic »

I fixed my heater core leak, and now I have this. Is this the water pump leaking, or does it look to be coming from somewhere else? I checked the hoses next to it and they seem fine.

In short. I fixed an upper radiator hose just before last winter and filled it with water to test to see if it was holding coolant or not. We got a freak snow storm and I thought I drained the coolant well enough when the snow started coming down, but clearly did not as I'm now chasing these gremlins after it froze.

The location of water pump is near the drain along the bulkhead; clear out the clog drain. If there is no loss of coolant fluid then just drain the old fluid at each port, and fill with fresh fluid for winter -- run it hot to remove air pockets.

Thats the water pump on the T6 engine linked with the power steering pump. Not sure if you saw it on a computer or phone, but there is a coolant mist that is getting onto the belt and misting around there. It's clearly leaking from something around that area, but I can't quite tell where because of the mist.

Just went through the order of replacing this pump. Definitely not fun considering I have the version with the power steering pump affixed to the water pump. There were a times I considered just scrapping the car instead of fixing it, but it seems to be good now.

1. Replaced all forward heater hoses and radiator.
2. Replaced thermostat
3. Replaced heater core - those clips they use simply don't work. I MacGyvered it and used heater hose and clamps instead. Not ideal, but it works and holds pressure.
4. Replaced water pump
