I prefer the manned (personned??) checkouts, so I must be one of the 'older people' you mentioned.
I can't be bothered to look up codes for different vegetables, fruit and bulk stuff. It also means I have to get my glasses out to read the screens, but I can see well enough for the cash/card payments.
Neil.

I repaired the wiring.
I have a cable i don't know what it is for. It comes from the square on the top of the ACC.
I have a second cable that seems to be plug to this first one (grey). I think they might be plugged together, no ?
I've replaced the hose on the top of the fuel tank the one that drives gaz upper the feed hole.
I've unbolted my rear wiper, its motor is dead. A used part normal this week.
I'm gaining more and more confidence in my maintenance work. And thanks to you guys!

Yeah, that appears to be the clutch wire for the AC compressor.

Greased the edges of the rear brake pads to try to stop the squealing (seems to have helped a little bit -- time will tell), changed the engine oil and filter 10W-40 Mobil 1 and Mann, cleaned and reseated the connector on the MAP/Baro sensor (pn 1275342) after getting the P0108 engine code again -- had this once about 10 years ago... code hasn't come back yet.
1997 855 GLT (Light Pressure Turbo) still going strong. Previous: 1986 240 GL rusted out in '06, 1985 Saab 900T rusted out in '95, 1975 Saab 99 rusted out in '95, 1973 Saab 99 rusted out in '94

Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Takes longer to clean stuff I pull from the junkyard than it takes to pull them in the first place. Vacuum bagging amplifiers units and cables, as well as another 2000 NA ETM after cleaning.
Also repairing an LH lower dash panel and under dash tray. Modifying the stupid flimsy screw retainer for the undertray with a strip of thin steel and a metal spring 'U'-clip for threading the retaining screw into which should be a lot stronger than the original plastic threaded piece that breaks off.
Finally tagging locations of parts on stock list and cleaning the remaining amp cables (removing the sticky residue from the foam covering). All that is left for the current hoard pulled is to clean the SC-901 unit including the laser for the CD player and then testing the small speakers, amp, cables and SC-901. Then I just have to clean some wooden dash pieces for a friend and organise to start packing for shipping!
Neil.

Couple of pics (not mine) from the Dumfries show
I was captured giving the car a quick wipe over when I arrived. I left Glasgow and by the time I reached Kilmarnock the heavens had opened. When I arrived at Dumfries it was dry, even the grass was dry and we never saw any rain all day. Result...
