McMaster Carr was the source. I think I still have them in my toolbox if we can connect up

I still need to do a little more testing before I think of dropping the subframe, but if I do need to I would appreciate that.
Can regular people order from McMaster Carr, or do you need a business account with them?

Regular people can but I am definitely not described by too many as regular or normal

It's alive! After replacing the fuel filter, rear cam seals, distributor cap, and rotor, it starts. Fuel filter definitely gave some resistance when blowing through it.
It had a pretty loud clacking noise, much louder than a stuck lifter, that I'm hoping is due to me forgetting to tighten a bolt somewhere in the weeks it's been sitting and not related to the backfire it gave me when I tried starting it before loading on the trailer. Clacking sounded to my untrained ear to be about 400 bpm comparing it to a metronome app, so it seems cam related.
If it's still burning oil I have yet to see but I'm sure any AWD owners can understand my relief.

The 850 I worked on clacked like crazy, as did my buddies S70 after they had sat for a while. A gentle run saw the oil get where it needed to and then they quietened down significantly and back to normal. Hopefully yours will be the same. I believe a 98 has a chance of having hydraulic lifters and they take a while to pump up again.

A 1998 will be hydraulic and expect 30 minutes of running below 3000 rpm to quell the clacking

Yesterday after changing the fuel filter and priming the pump, I pressed the Schrader valve and got a healthy jet.
The car started, but was making a clacking noise. I started it again after checking for anything loose, still clacking.
Today I took off the distributor and camshaft sensor to make sure everything was tight, I noticed the vacuum line that runs from the turbo air intake pipe to the fuel pressure regulator was disconnected.
After reconnecting this and putting everything back together, the car wouldn't start correctly, I had to have the throttle held open to get the car to start, and it was surging. Released the throttle, and the engine died.
After a minute or two I checked the Schrader valve, and no gas came out. I primed the pump 3 times, and gas dribbled out. I checked the shrader while printing the pump and gas shot out.
When I checked the cylinders with a bore scope, I saw that there was a clean spot on the middle of the intake side of piston number 4. This is the same cylinder that was giving me injector related codes before it would not start in the parking lot in New Jersey.
Is it possible that some debris could have gotten caught in this injector causing it to get stuck open? Would this cause a very loud clacking?

Running the engine with opening the throttle brought in code P0270. Torque says this is cylinder 4 injector circuit low.
Could a faulty injector be the cause of my loud clacking and if stuck open, be the cause of my fuel pressure leaking down? I'm thinking if anything, it's stuck open due to the clean spot on my piston when I looked with a bore scope.
Rockauto only has two new BOSCH 9454556/0280155759 left for $30 each. They're $52 on FCP. Is there any reason not to buy remanufactured injectors?

After taking the fuel rail off I found plenty of gas to pour out. Resistance of the cylinder 4 injector to ground matches 5 and 3, and resistance between the two pins on injector 4 matches 5 and 3. I'm really at a loss here.

That clacking does not sound like lifters but internet sounds can deceive
