2008 C30 T5 Help with installing quick strut

Post by Pretribrapper »

Really struggling to get strut back into car. Any suggestions? It is a quick struts but the bases of it is not fitting well into the knuckle sleeve. I have done struts many times over but this one is my most challenging.
I did not disconnect the ball joint from the lca but I did remove the driveshaft and still not able to maneuver the strut into the knuckle

Tools from Amazon didn't work well for us. Kept slipping out. The KONI struts also had a thick coat of paint so still difficult. It would be best to make that tool he is using.
.

I used a bottle jack and a block of wood to slowly jack upwards while tapping on the knuckle with a mallet.
