Proper torque sequence of engine mounts?

Proper torque sequence of engine mounts?

It occurred to me that I may not have torqued some of the engine mounts properly.

I wanted to make this thread to help myself and others to properly install engine mounts.

For instance I was told the upper torque mount should be tightened when the engine is running. I did some testing and noticed that while my AW55 transmission is in bad condition and is kicking during garage shifts, some of the effect could be from the mounts and maybe improper installation. The upper torque mounts while new (from Corteco installed in Jan this year) has a lot of slack and allows for more movement than I think is good, kind of thinking the rubber has separated from the mount like the old one.

This year I've also replaced the two subframe mounts with ones from Hutchinsons and I am not sure if I tightened them in the correct order. I jacked the up the engine and first removed and installed the rear subframe mount then removed the jack and tightened the mount. I then again jacked up the engine and removed the front mount, again removed the jack and tightened the front mount. One mistake I think I may have done is, I did not slacken the lower trans torque mount and maybe I tore it whilst jacking up for the subframe mounts, I am not sure.

All my engine mounts are new, though I did not replace them all in one go.

This sounds like made up stuff. I usually install the mounts loosely I jiggle the engine around a bit as the cone mounts self-center. Tighten cone mounts, the then the front engine mount ( passenger side of vehicle in US) when doing a complete engine install. Torque mounts last in no particular order

The top torque rod has a lot of engineering in it to provide torque control without transmitting vibrations into the cowl. Sven spent lots of design time on that mount, it is not a rigid rubber mount.

A lot of guys buy poly bushings on these because they are a cool colour then wonder where all the noise is coming from.

I would never install anything poly. Sure, it makes the car more stable, but vibrations are vibrations and even now I have them.

I didn't do the jiggle part. One thing that stood out to me, the front subframe mount no matter how much I tightened it from below(through the hole in the subframe) I did not feel much resistance, I keep wondering if I stripped something in there, so I stopped tightening to not make things worse.
