I've been using Shell Rotella T6 5w40. I do have some Shell Rotella Gas Truck, but it's only 5w30. It would probably be ok when cold but I'm afraid it would separate and float on the top of the 5w40 when hot.
First time hearing that oil will separate when hot.
It won't. I was trying out-abscate, abscate.

I ended up buying Valvoline's "European" oil. It's a 5 quart jug, so I'll top it off with Rotella T6. Both a 5w40 oils.
Maybe not, but I think there's some merit to Abscate's point on the different brands of gas separating...

This popped up on FCP’s morning email blast. Pretty interesting.
Two year old clickbait from the 850NA track car build. YouTube is on a big fishing expedition these days, Robert mentioned it a few posts ago.

Sorry for the repost then. Saw some of the build videos. Definitely effective clickbait.

It's funny, I had that video recommended to me too. It was probably in an FCP email, come to think of it.

I was thinking, "REALLY" can someone on this forum actually think the differing brands or weights will separate? Abscate me once  ...

Yeah, I’ve been known to get pick a pun pocket or two here, with some fake news.

Got it from FCP in my inbox as well, so it's clickbait from their end as opposed to a Y/T deal. I did follow a little of that track car saga, and while it was an interesting science experiment, it wouldn't make sense for most folks to spend that kind of time on such a project; those guys were getting paid to play.

It's a level of dedication that I don't have, that's for sure. I just don't think I could get that deep into a single car without serious power gains. It's cool, but that's about all. The car will still probably get mopped by a stock T5 in a straight line
I can't knock it too hard though.... I know a lot of us have thought about how cool a higher power NA 5 cylinder would be to build. I applaud him for dumping the time and money into this experiment. Something I couldn't justify myself!

I ordered some front turn signals today for my S70. I already ordered headlights, but then realized one of my turn signals is broken too. I figured I'd go ahead and just get both.

Coolant bottle and lower hose arrived today. I also got a pair of Oetiker clamps, but they don't fit. Reviewing my purchase, I'm not sure why I thought those were "the ones". Oh well. They are packaged as URO, but close inspection reveals them to be real Oetikers. I'll just tuck them away in my Volvo parts drawer. Looking at the car, the original clamps may be reusable. They're a worm drive. I took a look at the thread Firefox started on the Oetiker clamps, and I was surprised to find that Volvo lists the worm drive clamps in that application.

The upper hose on the coolant tank is held on with a small Oetiker. I'm not sure what I'll do for that, yet.
