Broken sideview mirror, 94 Volvo 850 NA

Post by 2goldvolvos »

The driver's side mirror is floppy, as though a tension spring or something is broken. Does anybody have a description of what's inside these "breakaway" mirror assemblies? Getting the whole mirror assembly off looks pretty easy, and this site has an excellent DIY for removing the inner door panel, which I think I'll need to do to disconnect the power to the mirror.

Welcome to MVS. I believe it's just a pry off of the triangular plastic piece on the inside of the car (opposite of the outside mirror)...no need to take the entire door cover off. Then you'll see some nuts you can tighten. Hope I'm right- at least it is on my S70 so I would imagine the same on an 850.
