1984 244 dl
1984 244 dl
I have a 1984 Volvo 244dl turbo. I replaced the fuel filter , and I'm in the process of changing the fuel pump. Parts houses have suggested to replace the fuel pressure regulator at the same time. The problem is that the fuel press. reg. is no longer available. I have not had a problem with the fpr, does it need to be replaced, if so where do I find one?

RockAuto shows 2 different brands of regulator in stock. As to whether you should replace it, I'll leave that to the more experienced on this site.

Having several 240 Volvos, I would say do not replace the fuel pressure regulator unless it is leaking or you have fuel pressure issues and bad running.
That said, I just bought a fuel pressure regulator from IPD because old one was leaking.
Long live the 240's!
