More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.
August 30, 2023 the calculated growth rate for all United States was 0.0105. This is the highest growth rate since February 22, 2023, when it was 0.0108. On November 22, 2023 the reported cases had a Growth Rate of 0.00948. New reported cases are rising again.

The CDC has announced the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and more states have ended Covid-19 reporting. Since May 14, 2023, 33 states and territories have not reported results. However, I still have been receiving reports from other states through Worldometer. I will be continuing daily reports as long as the information is relevant.

State growth rates for November 29, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: New York (0.092) with 7,271,033 cases, North Dakota (0.084) with 298,911 cases, US Virgin Islands (0.049) with 25,874 cases, Delaware (0.045) with 341,196 cases, and Wisconsin (0.043) with 2,043,838 cases. New York has been in the top 5 states for 375 of the last 420 days. North Dakota has been in the top 5 states for 159 of the last 178 days. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 497 of the last 525 days. Delaware has been in the top 5 states for 129 of the last 169 days. Wisconsin has been in the top 5 states for 49 of the last 49 days.

Several states have stopped posting new case and new death numbers. I will back calculate where possible. These Districts and states have not reported in the last 30 days or more: Alabama, Arkansas, California, District Of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming, Veteran Affairs, US Military, Navajo Nation, and Federal Prisons.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00926 for yesterday, up from previous day of 0.00418. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 46 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 428 of last 667 days with decreasing active case numbers.

In early August, the number of reported active cases had dropped below 800,000 for the first time since July 2021. As of September 4, active cases are once again above 1,000,000. Since October 2, 2023, reported active cases had been below 900,000 each day. November 22, 2023, active cases rose to 919,833.

There have now been 109 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 430 of last 672 days with decreasing active case numbers.

In early August, the number of reported active cases had dropped below 800,000 for the first time since July 2021. As of September 4, active cases are once again above 1,000,000. November 22, 2023, active cases rose to 919,833. Daily active case counts are now consistently above 900,000.

There have now been 109 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

State growth rates for December 5, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: New York (0.100) with 7,286,859 cases, North Dakota (0.089) with 300,043 cases, US Virgin Islands (0.049) with 25,874 cases, Wisconsin (0.047) with 2,043,838 cases, and Delaware (0.040) with 341,196 cases. New York has been in the top 5 states for 381 of the last 426 days. North Dakota has been in the top 5 states for 165 of the last 184 days. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 503 of the last 531 days. Wisconsin has been in the top 5 states for 55 of the last 55 days. Delaware has been in the top 5 states for 135 of the last 175 days.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00410 for yesterday, up from previous day of 0.00298. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 54 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 431 of last 673 days with decreasing active case numbers.

In early August, the number of reported active cases had dropped below 800,000 for the first time since July 2021. As of September 4, active cases are once again above 1,000,000. November 22, 2023, active cases rose to 919,833. Daily active case counts are now consistently above 900,000.
