What happens now? Both my passenger and driver windows suffer from the issue of auto close not working sometimes. I press auto-up and as soon as it reaches the top it goes back down.
I tried the reset procedure as shown in videos multiple times but it had no effect on the windows. Am I looking at a mechanical problem here?
I will now be looking at VIDA and DHA to figure out what I can play around with and manually set the stop position perhaps.
Addendum: DHA had no way of resetting or setting calibrations but that isnt an issue. I tried the other procedure suggested elsewhere a few more times but it doesnt work. It must a mechanical issue. I do see the window slightly shift from left to right so it must be that.
Power windows go down with auto-close after reaching top. Recalibration did not fix it.

I have seen my auto close windows reverse without fully closing sometimes. This happens more when it is cold. I suspect the system is sensing a possible object blocking the travel and reversing for safety. I just hold the button and finish closing the window.
If you think it is bad enough to try to repair, disassemble and check the mechanism for wear or bent parts. It may be binding and need lubrication or replacement parts. The advantage of trying to repair is you can choose the time and avoid the bother of random failure.

the control arms are bent and possibly a slider block popped loose.
it will reverse direction if it encounters resistance.
be careful in freezing weather, rolling them down when the glass is frozen to the rubber seals is what does the damage.
i replaced my actuator last summer due to bent arms.

Are there any pictures of what I should look for?jonesg wrote: ↑19 Jan 2024, 13:49the control arms are bent and possibly a slider block popped loose.

Also, I have noticed several things with the other windows. The passenger window in its full upward position actually lets a lot of noise in, if I slightly tap the button to bring it a bit down, it seals better and doesnt let noise in anymore.
My rear right door/window rattles a lot when driving on uneven roads or potholes(and this is where the car is driven 90% of the time), if I also slightly drop it down, just slightly, the noise doesnt disappear but it does rattle a lot less. I actually dont know if its something related to the window specifically or something with the door panel/cover.
