I have a 93 850 and the ABS has made a noise for a long time - mine sounds more like metal scrapping. But it only does it once soon after I start driving. Not causing any problems for me. You may need to replace the donut at the manifold/exhaust interface (assuming that year has one). I did that once and I'm still on the original exhaust system.

Hey thanks when the engine is cold I get exhaust smoke from cat converter area and have a bit of grumble from exhaust past year but not bad for 25yrs with the original exhaust. Have a p0447 error all the time recently. I love the car.

The error code P0477 usually means a broken/stuck EVAP purge valve.
Replacing is straight forward and done in 5 minutes (on most vehicles).
A new one costs around 50-80 bucks. But first check if not just the connector is corroded or dirty.

I want to order that valve and my part number on it (1998 S70 T5 2.3L) says 9125243. And yet, when I search that it says discontinued.
Want to make absolutely sure I get the right part so can someone get me the number to buy please? --thanks
(it's not the round one -- more square/rectangle in shape with 2 pegs on it) It's hanging loose so maybe those pegs were to mount it?

Do you know if this is your engine? Do these specs sound right? Is it manual or auto?
Specs:
T5 2.3
B5234T3
1997–2000
240 PS (177 kW; 237 hp)
330 N⋅m (243 lb⋅ft) at 2700
2,319 cc (141.5 in3)

If the in my previous post mentions specs are correct, this is the diagram for your engine.
The part number 9125243 is correct. This valve was used til '99, after that it changed, see parts under number 19 in the parts list.
There seems to be a replacement for your valve with the part number 8631285, so I would get that.
In the list are also the clips for the valve you mentioned.

seems (apparently) either 8631285 or 8627005 will work -- both have same pierburg number. -- thank you so much.

edit-- both are pa6-gf30 but one is
<2 and the other <7

if that means anything. ?
