Could someone tell me where the Fuel Pressure Sensor is located in 2001 V70XC?
Thanks

For all you 2001 XC70/V70XC owners, the Fuel Pressure Sensor does NOT exist.
I visited the Volvo dealer in town who later called their main Volvo place in lower 48,
and was confirmed. I also called the tech department of the VolvoUS and I was also
informed that my year does not have it and it is a mistake by them with the parts/repair
catalogs. The FPS started with some 2002 models.
Good to know.

I connected a gauge to the rail at the valve and turned the engine (since the car would not start).
Here's my reading. What would that mean, though it's above the 40psi requirement.
I am trying to troubleshoot the car not starting anymore.
Months back, it hesitates when applying more acceleration, then, it starts stalling, then it gave up.

I think the P2 fuel pressure spec is 50 psi.
That fluctuation is not good though, I saw the same thing when my pump electronic module or PEM went bad

For my 2001 V70, 2.4L 5 base model, I received the FPS ordered from IPD, then later opened the hood and where the FPS was supposed to be installed on the fuel rail, had a schrader valve for pressure relief only.
No FPS as Oka's post earlier FPS effectivity for the 2001 year are in error. I wish I read that earlier!

There was a wierd transition in the fuel delivery system between the 1998, 99,00 and the next generation chassis
Up to 2000 it was all analog pump drive, fuel pressure regulation by engine or manifold vacuum.
Then it went to fuel pump pressure driven by CEM, then CEM/PEM in the 2003,4 range
We have had many hours of live wasted by people searching for PEMs on cars that don’t have them
CEM central electronic module
PEM pump electronic module

Early P2s don't have an ECM-controlled fuel pump. It just runs at 100% duty, always delivers 400 kPa fuel pressure and dumps anything over back to tank. It is when PEM was introduced ECM started to control how quick the pump spins. Apparently these later pumps live longer lives as they don't have to work half as hard.

The pumps on the late p2 live forever. Of course, the PEM dies at 10 years/150k
