TLDR: I replaced the exhaust VVT hub but it's chugging so I want to know if I timed it correctly. Can I read that in VIDA under Vehicle Communication? If so then exactly which parameters, there are several related to timing, and what values am I looking for?
Vehicle: 07 XC70, 189k
Original symptoms: Car was chugging under load like uphill on the highway but otherwise fine, and threw intermittent VVT exhaust codes. Swapped in a much newer, clean and working exhaust cam solenoid, no change. Anyway the lone code was ECM-614B which also suggested VVT hub not the solenoid
What I did: Replace the VVT hub and a nearly-due timing belt job. This is my first P2 timing belt job after about a dozen on P80 cars. Read everything carefully, the job seemed to go well including VVT timing.
Current symptoms: I put it all back together, now the chugging is actually slightly worse, shows up under less load. I've only driven it around town but no codes at all. So, did I time it wrong? I'll pull it all apart this weekend and get the cam tools back out but would like to gather the appropriate data in VIDA first while it's running. No codes, I've run it about 15 times just very short trips.

How do you read timing in VIDA?

You can for Bosch ECMs for sure. I forgot which option it was though.
Was the vvt you used as a replacement new or used? Could it be that the replacement is faulty? Secondly did you turn it clockwise like instructed?
Did you lock the crank? When removing the camshaft position bit did you ensure you did not break any of the teeth, it is fragile.

VVT is new Volvo branded, bought from FCP.
Was super careful with the VVT rotation triple checked it etc., but I will check it again when I take it apart this weekend.
Did not lock the crank but had the harmonic balancer off, very sure it stayed on the mark.
Back of the cams did not break. Yet.

It’s “cam flank angle “ which reports the position of the cam relative to the crankshaft.

For sure it could be something else. One reason I want to confirm the timing.
I actually swapped all five coils, too. Before the timing. Forgot to mention that. I did it because fuel economy was also mediocre (forgot to mention that, too!). Coil swap did nothing.
But any other ideas own the chugging if timing is fine?

Chugging is classic cam timing off. One tooth will do it. The code can take several cycles to set, but you should see it pending unless you have the real cheap code reader with no potato option

I read the codes with VIDA-DiCE. There's been nothing but I'll check again later today.

Still no codes.
There’s no parameter called cam flank angle unless I’m not looking in the right place. Here is what I can read, this is at idle:
