My plastic steering wheel adjustment hand lever broke. It's the lever to the left of your steering wheel that allows you to raise or lower the steering wheel. Volvo PN is 9 491 830. Has anyone replaced this and what did you disassemble to get it back on? Broken, it comes out easily but it looks like I have to disassemble the dash or drop the steering column to get a new one back on. I can't even reassemble the housing around the steering wheel electronics without raising and lowering the wheel. If the housing is on (w/o the lever), you can't lock it in place...can't get vice grips in there to lock it (turn it).
I'll try to get a replacement part from the junkyard, but want to use the most efficient method to procure a used part, and then assemble it on my car.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. This will help but it's for the generation of V70 prior to my 2001. The column covering removal is the same, but kick panel, and dash and even hand lever are different. I'll use this for reference but was hoping someone with a 2001-2007 V70 or S60 did the job.
My lever broke (split) where it snaps around the metal lobe that locks and unlocks the shaft. No clamp needed. There is no room to the left of the lobe to slide on a new lever. Using this video as a guide, it's clear the steering column needs to be unbolted to be able to move it for clearance. Problem is getting to and determining which few bolts to remove or loosen.
Thanks again.
Anyone with actual experience?
