2001 V70 T5 Auto Dimming Mirror + Keyless entry Help!!!!!

Post by newitem »

Hi All,

I m not sure anyone would familiar with this case. Auto Dimming Rear View mirror was changed, and the alarm and inteiror lights were acting wired.

The interior lights (both front and rear) were STAY ON at all time as I had to take out the light bulbs.

The remote keyless DO NOT work at all.

The sun roof button were STOP WORKING.

Any idea of this case? Thank you all for your suggestion.

What did you put in?
The auto dim mirror is tied in to the alarm and all the things you mentioned. has to be married to the car like an ECU, you cannot just "pop in" a mirror, ANY KIND of mirrow and it MUST be the same as what came out

NOTE: SRS system service light also came ON after replaceing the mirror.

The problem is that I threw away the old mirror already.

You need to go to the dealer and have them "marry" your mirror with your car's computer. This is normal behavior unless the software upgrade is done.

I m assuming the SRS was lit after I installed this mirror because this mirror might memorize the airbag deployment of its original car?

Would it be possible? I actually ordered another auto dimming on eBay to try one more time before going to dealer, which is very costly.

Thanks for your helps.

Okay...answered your other post again. Once programmed, if the SRS stays on, you'll know that it's a separate issue. Currently, I don't know if it's tied into that mirror or not.

A check of my electrical diagrams for that car show that the UEM is not responsible for any SRS functions. It's responsible for: interior courtesy lighting, alarm activation (via Volcano Lite protocol), power locking, and sunroof. Yours isn't working because the software version on it isn't compatible with your CEM. You'll have to go to your dealer, explain that you swapped the mirror and ask for a "UEM reload." $29 for software, 1 hour labor.

In that case, while you are at the dealer you will have to get them to turn your SRS light off...let's hope that there isn't a problem that's causing it to stay on.

EVERYTHING ties inot the SRS light and when things are either disconnected or installed improperly it will come on.
The ONLY one that can help you is a Volvo dealer
