Hello all,
As the title states, I have been having an issue with my 98 V70's SRS dash light coming on, only after driving for a while (hour or so). It is intermittent even after it comes on, often turning off under deceleration or hitting a bump just right.
I suspect some sort of loose connection somewhere in the system, both due to the intermittent behavior, and since if I plug my scan tool in when the light is on it is unable to connect to the SRS module, and if I plug it in when the light is off it communicates just fine and reports no stored codes. I'll probably perform a slow hunt over the next few weeks to months of the different connectors, and will update here, but I figured I would post here first if anyone has had a similar experience and has suggestions about where is best/easiest to start with for this diagnosis. I was thinking about starting at the module itself.
Thanks for reading! Thanks in advance for any help.

Have a look at the seat belt latches and connectors first.

Sounds like the module is loosing power. I think it's powered through fuse 36 in main fuse box under hood near firewall in front of driver. Looks like a relay is also involved. Relay 105 in same fuse box. If it was the ignition switch you would think you would see other problems? The module grounds a transistor from pin 25 to keep the SRS light off. You could also unplug one of the SIPS connectors (2 pin green plug) at the front of the seat (after disconnecting negative battery terminal) and see if the scanner will read the code (squeeze the sides of the plug and pull out the connector). Getting to the module is pretty easy. If you want to remove it move the front seats all the way back before disconnecting the battery. Maybe just need to spray and reseat the module connector.
