hub/wheel bearing

Post by aaps »

Hi
I am sort of new here. Please help. I have a Volvo 850 1994 GL (not turbo) has 140 K on it
The shop is telling me that my left front hub/wheel bearing has plag?? Plaque? that built over time. and i need to replace it.

I know that they are not cheap. part + labor. is it time to replace it?? simply because of some plaque? it is not even making any noise when i drive at any speed. sometimes when i make a hard turn.

Thanks in advance.

This site is great !

Only when you turn? What about when you turn the steering wheel when the car is not moving?

What's the noise like?

It's hard to diagnose over the internet, but from what you've written it sounds like a bearning and not, for instance, a shock mount.
