Moog rear wheel bearing hub

Post by confused_al »

In search of a replacement of my failed blue box rear wheel bearing I found this Moog brand one on advance auto web site. It is the same as my blue box bearing (made by SKF), and only costs me $58 (with $40 off $100 purchase coupon)!

SKF is One of the most reputable of all. FAG, Timken, will also be a trusted choice in hub bearings.
All of which are in the $100.USD range. So your price sounds good. If it is a genuine SKF bearing that is installed.
Moog parts are refurbished. So You may not be sure of the bearing, no matter what the casting says.
Also, I do not see SKF stamped into the bearing itself, which I believe they almost always do.

EDIT: I have had no issues that come to mind with the Moog brand.

That is nice if you own a press and your existing hub is friendly.

That indeed needs a shop size press.

Not sure about the bearing, but on Volvo's bearing it has no stamp either :o
On the box it says "Made in USA", that beats any Chinese crap...lol

BTW, it is not cheap if not for that coupon:
