I can't recall if they used 14" or 15" tires. If you are tall (over 6') if the car has a sunroof you may find you have little headroom. I'm a little over 6' 1" and I found by head brushing the sunroof. I had a 760 turbo and also a 940 turbo wagon. I liked both of the cars. They felt solid. I would prefer a manual in the winter. We are not even allowed studded tires here in Calgary. Our son had an accident when his car slid on a slope into another car even on snow and ice tires that were almost new.

Plenty of weight in the trunk is the secret in winters. The RWD autos, don't have the winter start mode like the P80 autos.

The 5 part indicates turning resistance at a specific (low) temperature, see the SAE website for that info, or if you're brave enough, www.bobistheoilguy.com. The 30 part is the pouring viscosity, and works fine in our cars. 0w8 is an artifact of US fuel economy standards, used on some brand new cars designed to run on such flimsy juice.
There is an automotive lubricant petrochemical engineer posting on Y/T as https://www.youtube.com/@themotoroilgeek
who does a pretty good job of showing lab results for these things (he is the guy who designed the Joe Gibbs line of lubricants marketed as Driven), and he owns an oil testing lab. He covered that Valvoline product not long ago.

We don't get enough snow here to warrant chains. I think they might actually be illegal. It's good to know my idea of a 740 isn't totally crazy, Though. Last time I looked at it, I forgot to see what size tires it needs.
There is usually little snow here also, BUT there have been foot deep snow storms here in the last 40 years. Southern Oklahoma. I think I only put chains on my '75 245 once.

Yes, but for some reason, Volvo ranks 5w30 as having a much lower upper temperature limit than 10w30. It makes no sense to me, who understands what you just wrote above. I'd have to look again, in the manual, but I think Volvo says 5w30 tops out at something ridiculous like 70F, but 10w30 tops out at the same temperature as 5w40.

That's Lake Speed Jr. I've watched several of his videos, including at least one on Restore & Protect. Really good info.

I'm not that tall, so I should be fine there. I think it does have a sunroof, which is something mu 850 lacks. My S70 had one, and I miss it.... have to drive the Mercedes to get that now.

That surprises me. I figured studs would be fairly normal in Canada. We can technically have them here in MI, but practically can't. They're legal if approved by the manufacturer, and the automakers don't... or don't care. The law might not even specify if it's the automaker or tiremaker. This is just what I've heard/read, so maybe not completely accurate.

I use winter mode more often, for stop and go construction traffic. If I don't, I get a harsh shift right before I have to apply the brakes again... most annoying.

Studs are ok outside the city. I the city we used to get lots of chinook warm winds in winter which could leave the roads bare a lot of the time. Studded tires wreck the asphalt when the roads are bare. So the city banned them. Not we are getting more snow, they have decided instead of allowing studded tires, they will spray liquid death on the roads (de-icer) which is speculated to be why the main water main burst at half expected lifespan (great plan, run all major pipes under roadways). That stuff is highly corrosive.

I asked the roads department if thay had checked the corrosive properties of the de-icer. The answer was no!! Then the guy says, it affects the bridge decks as it eats through the re-bar!!

Need some help since my current car isn't a good reference. Should this corner of the dash be lined up flush with the A-pillar trim?
