Or a 500 or 560 SEC!!

Love the color/ Nearly bought one 25 years ago but found they were prone to rotten rear parcel shelves, even when the car itself looked solid everywhere else. Bought a Porsche 928 S4 instead. It actually rode better than the Merc and way better the a BMW M5.

Bingo. 560 SEC. It's my neighbor's, and the photos are from a week or so ago when I was driving down our alley. I think he's had it since new. I don't know the year. It's a show car, and it's won awards. I've seen him drive it twice in six years of living here.

That's very interesting about the 928 vs. 560 SEC vs. M5. Do you still have the 928?

Unfortunately no. I owned that in the old country before moving to Canada. If it had been LHD I would have brought it here, but as it was RHD I had to sell it. Funnily, my wife probably drove it more than me! Mind you I had the 250bhp 98 V70 T5...........!

Hemmings web site says SEC was built 1881 to 1991. The US spec 560 made 238 HP. Euro spec got up to 300 ponys.

Here’s how you get in and out - the whole front glass flips up, and you crawl over!

All the rage at the car shows in the late 60’s, everybody was doing it. “The FUTURE….”
Some foundation in aerodynamics, or the appearance of aerodynamics, of the time.
