So been smelling gas when near the real wheel on my t5 s70. Looking at the lines near the wheel it looks like the line between the tank? And the filter needs replaced.
When looking up diagrams etc online most show the fpr sort of at this location. So I’m little confused at what I’m looking at here or what I need to fix this part of the problem
Anyone got the parts diagrams for this odd model?

The 1998 was a transition year between the FPR being behind the engine down Low, passenger side, or at the rear near the gas tank.
Look for your carbon canister..if it’s in the driver wheel well, FPR up front.
If the carbon canister is on the passenger rear, the FPR is back there too

Just looks like the fuel filter is in that area.
I had some left over parts from my 97 so when I quickly glanced at it at first I figured the torx screw I saw was the fpr but it’s not when I looked at it better
But what I’m trying to figure out at the moment is replacing the fuel line in question that runs behind the passenger wheel to the bushing with the torx screw. I’m assuming there’s some sort of check valve or something here but can’t really find any info.
As well on the diagrams for the earlier models it looks like almost an elbow that goes from the main fuel line into the fpr. I’m looking at a hose that connects right in front of the passenger side rear wheel that runs then behind the brakes and I’m assuming up into the tank or there’s another connection somewhere back there.

I guess what I’m looking at is the same with the older models. I went to check out a 97 that I have for parts and the lines look the same until the above part

So found the fpr in the engine compartment basically.
The Volvo part is no longer available. I’ve searched and I’ve seen people ask about other Bosch units that may work.
From what I’ve found there’s two different units that run at 3.8 bar. One of some mid90s Benz and another off mid2000 911s. The 911 part is priced accordingly at 3-5x the amount as the mb part.
But can I use said Benz part. It looks like an exact match from what I can gather and issue all Bosch regulators of this type are the same dimensions the different colors just relating to flow rate

That picture is the rear FPR
IT uses vacuum from the evap canister purge line to regulate fuel pressure. That’s the small elbow connection
You might find all those suppliers play a sad trombone 2-3 days after ordering

Correct that’s off a 97. Which I had parts for. Without looking I just assumed it was the same which on this model it’s not.
The other Bosch part #’s are readily available from multiple suppliers.

On the ‘98 the fpr is near the steering rack. It’s visible under the hood but I’d think it’s easier to access from under the car to replace.
