About 2 wks. ago I checked the coolant level on my 240 and it was good. This week I found about a quart on the ground, checked the level and it was down about one gallon. I refilled it and I don't seem to be losing any now. Any ideas on what's going on?
I'm thinking a waterpump leak? I could have lost a bunch on the road and what I found on the ground is just what was dripping from different parts of the body after the water pump leak?

I don't think a water pump leak would dump that much water and then re-seal itself. If it is the water pump you should still be losing water and you would see it around the pump area.
Had you noticed your temp gauge reading too high for any length of time before you lost the coolant?
Bill.
