So, I'm in the process of bringing my car back to life after sitting a while. One of the issues I need to address is the play in the steering shaft universal. I tried several years ago to get the old one out working through the hole from the inside with no luck. Now I'm even less physically capable of getting in there. Is there any useful access from below or through the wheel well? I have the replacement part. In fact I have two, since someone told me the changed the part mid year, so I have two with two different part numbers.
Any tips on getting this thing done would be a huge help.

Those are tough to get to even when you are flexible. Is there a maker space nearby you can rent a lift?

Well, after plenty of brutality and bad language, I managed to get the universal replaced. I ended up cutting into chunks to finally get the bolt out, then used a small puller to get the rest off of the shaft. I think I'll be sore for a week.
