I am not a super repair guy. I have heard I may need to remove inner door panel to fix this problem. Is it fairly straight forward? If anybody knows where I can look up a 960 manual online I would be greatful as well.

Welcome to MVS.
I'm moving your thread over to the 960/RWD section as you will get more help there than the 850/FWD section you have posted in.

The inner door panels are not too difficult to remove on the 960.
If it has manually operated rear windows there is a small panel in the winding handle which is prised out to reveal a screw. Undo the screw and remove the winder. If the windows are electrically operated the switch is removed by easing it up with a weatherstrip tool or a similar piece of plastic to avoid damage.
Remove the plastic inner door opener surround with the same tool.
Remove the cover at the rear of the door pull with the same tool and remove the two screws that are revealed.
Remove the door edge warning light with, you guessed, the same tool.
There are three clips holding the bottom edge of the door panel. Gently remove them by inserting a small blade and pulling down. Some people bend the tip of a screwdriver at 90 degrees to do this but I have always just used a straight blade as I am too mean to bend a screwdriver.
Pull out the lower edge of the panel.
Press the panel up at the back edge.
Remove the panel by pulling the front edge outwards.
Remove the wiring from the door seal.
Release the door seal at the upper edge and pull downward. You will see three clips in the bottom edge of the door seal. These must not be removed.
Reftitting is a reverse of the above.
As for manuals for the 960 they are thin on the ground. VADIS does have some repairs for the 960 on it. The discs are readily available on eBay. As usual I would suggest you check eBay UK as the prices are somewhat less than the US site.

Thanks for moving me to the right site and the helpful instructions. Found out the outside door handle's inner plastic lever which connected to the metal hanger was broken off. I bought a used handle and I think I fixed it. Was confused on which side the metal hanger should go into the plastic lever (open end facing in or facing out (chose this one)) but it seems to work.
Thanks again
Thanks again

Good to know you have it fixed, thank you for the update.

Bill.
This is the parts diagram from VADIS showing how the bits go together:which side the metal hanger should go into the plastic lever
