Did another drain and fill on the transmission last night before driving out to CT to pick up a bunch of spare parts. Transmission still gets a bit clunky when at low speeds getting back on the gas after a bit of coasting. Very noticeable in Connecticut traffic.

I can't recall now what all you have done on this car. Usual check is the engine mounts (specifically the crank pully/RH mount, and top and bottom torque mounts), and then also the CV joints. At least that would reduce the likely chance of it not being the trans. Also worth checking the sub-frame mounts too.

Hopefully something in there and not the trans. How many dump and fills have you done on the trans?

I did 3 with Liqui Moly ATF1100 which is Dex 3G/H (actually says Dex 2/3 on the bottle woops) and then two with the ATF1200 Dex 3H within a few hundred miles of each other.
The ATF1200 is a darker color red and more viscous, at least at room temperature.
First drain and fill I did was around when I got the car, and then the second around 5000 miles later. ATF was already dark by then, with a little sludge on the drain plug. Third drain and fill was around 2000 miles after that, again dark fluid and some sludge on the drain plug.
When I drained the fourth time after switching to the 1200, fluid was still red, but it was only around 200-300 miles of use.

First drain and fill only 3 liters came out so I put 3 liters in. Since then I've been putting in as close to 3.5 liters as I can, and 3.5 liters comes out when I drain. I'll have to check the motor mounts again. I just replaced the top torque mount and firewall torque mount, both were torn. I might need to buy a FWD transmission lower torque mount and graft the larger bushing together with the special AWD smaller bushing.

Careful with the lower torque mount offsets from AWD and FWD are different. IPD do an (expensive) AWD replacement for the small end with a poly-bush.

The fluid sounds like it is where it needs to be.

I had posted about my original 188k mile fuel filter, then forgot I said I would post pictures.

As you can see, the media was a little dirty. Almost 2x the recommended change interval.

Awesome wine glass holder.

I’ve got FWD parts pulled off Shagg. How far off I87 are you and which exit?

My 850 back on road after 5? months sitting finally. Got today Finnish MOT pass.

Had to replace rear brake calibers as at MOT other side jammed and made very nice whining noise while driving back. Father was helping there as had cut the brake lines too to get old ones off.

Sure on other side i made that "knob" or whatever in line and almost finished when noticed i left the nut off. Its so easy mistake.

The groaning started on Friday night, and I added ATF to the reservoir, but it just kept disappearing. Today, I got under and saw a pretty healthy PS fluid leak from the steering rack.

I had an 850 like that, I tried switching to Valvoline MaxLIfe ATF stop leak and it fixed it. Worth a try if you don't want to go down the rabbit hole of rack work on an 850. The remans are crap, everything likely badly rusted, etc.
