Hi all,
english is not my native language, so please excuse mistakes, I will do my best to be understandable.
I am constantly carrying tools and material in the trunk of my 2010 XC60 and I am annoyed by the tiny little light trying to illuminate the scene.
My Idea was to attach an LED strip to the plastic cover where the "inside" of the car ends and the trunk lid is attached that is connected to the tiny light in the lid and is lighting up when opening the lid.
I learned that the light in the lid is wired to the ECU controlling the lock and has no connection to the inside.
My idea was to run a wire from the lid to the inside of the car, and this is where the fun begins.
I did not manage to get an extra pair of wire through the rubber hose that shields the wiring harness going to the lid.
Is there any chance to successfully light up the trunk and avoiding to see my own shadow while digging inside my tool bag?
Thank you for your ideas!
Best regards
Patrick

Do XC60's have a cigarette lighter type 12V outlet in the trunk area?
