Engine cut out on freeway.- 2005 S80 2.5T

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Engine cut out on freeway.- 2005 S80 2.5T

Post by Sds80 »

Stalled on the freeway. Would not start again. Had it towed home. I've had this car for 3 years and about 50k (175k total) mostly trouble free miles. It was my wife's driver for a couple of years, then my daughter for the last year.

I've got VIDA and a DICE and checked that the fuel pressure is high. I also checked the valve on the fuel rail and it definitely has fuel under pressure. No fuel (fuel pump or bad signal to it) was the most common reason cited for stalling, so I checked that first to eliminate.it.

It has 3 ECM codes that I think may be related.
ECM-340D Inlet camshaft sensor - signal too low
ECM-341D Exhaust camshaft sensor - signal too low
ECM-440B Fuel level sensor - signal too low

For the major problems and the ECM, any suggestions on what to try next? I read one instance where the ECM-340D led to a cracked camshaft position sensor. I will check that next, but would that also explain a ECM-340D, let alone the 341D and 440B? Main difference seems to be between "signal too low" and "signal missing" plus the additional codes.

What should I look for next?

It also has some codes that I have seen before and don't understand, but don't seem related. Any insight into these codes would also be appreciated
UEM-0031 Rear left reading lamp
UEM-0033 Rear right readdgin lamp
UEM-0039 General lighting
UEM-003C luggage compartment

and

CEM-9C03 Antenna/light ring Signal missing

For the UEM and CEM issues, do I have some wiring flakiness? As far as I can tell, those lights work. Is there an explanation for those (most likely a separate issue than the stalling).
