1998 S80 engine mount broken - which one is it?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

1998 S80 engine mount broken - which one is it?

Post by 71Corvette »

While changing the oil on my 1998 S80 today, I noticed one of the engine mounts was broken. Replacing the mount looks to be pretty simple, but I'm having a hard time trying to identify which mount (and which part number) I need to order as a replacement. Does anyone have a schematic I can reference?

Specifically, it's what I think is the rear drivers side mount - it's located just to the drivers side, and just in front of, the oil pan.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Are you sure it's not a 1999? I didn't think they made the S80 in 1998.

Here's a list of possible mounts. I think you need the one at the upper left for $55:

Here's a diagram:

Sorry, you're right - it is a 1999. I had a 98 Dodge Dakota and always get them mixed up.

Thanks for the Schematic and Link, that helps a ton!

You're welcome. Do you need directions on how to change it?

I think I should be all set - it looks pretty straight forward. If I run into any difficulty I know where to come!

OK. Do not lift the engine more than 30mm or you'll ruin the driver's side CV joint.
