I just purchased a this vehicle with about 136K on it. Will be a gift for my daughter.
There are a couple things that I would like to sort out prior to giving her the car. Any guidance would be appreciated.
1. Turn signal stalk - the push button at the end of stalk does not work. Generally, I have to push it many times to get it to work, then it will continue to work. Any way to remove and clean these or just easier to purchase a new one and replace it?
2. Park Assist - half the time it works immediately and half the time, it does not work at all. Suspect there is a dirty sensor. Am planning to clean them well. Plenty of people on YTU (YouTube University) recommend WD40 and a little elbow grease. Thoughts?
3. Key - car came with only one key. I’d like her to have two. It seems the keys are inexpensive but the programming is outrageous. Any way to avoid the dealer on this.
4. Window Trim - the drivers side window trim piece is missing. Rare color Maple Red Pearl. If anyone has a part car in this color, I’d buy the trim piece. If I can’t find one, I’ll buy black trim for both the drivers and passengers side and she’ll never notice.
5. Apple Car Play - has anyone added car play to a 2010? I’ve some videos about adding it to later models but nothing as early as a 2010.
That’s all for now.
Thank you,
Todd

Can't help with much on your list.
Park assist. - Like you say, the usual culprit is the connectors on the sensors themselves. The sensors can also fail. Removing the bumper and cleaning the contacts and the sensors will help figure out if it is a sensor or the dirty contacts. Don't re-install the bumper until after you have tested it to make sure you don't need any new sensors.
I have not worked on XC60's much. But the stalk issue is either a dirty switch contact which contact cleaner may fix. It will likely require removal to get access for cleaning. Finding a good used one may be an option. EBay or Erie Vo-Vo may be a source here.
Not familiar with the newer car key programming on this P3 chassis. With P2 cars you need the new dealer key to get the programming code from the key packaging for even the dealer to code for you. I believe there is a guy on here called Doublebug who can assist with this. There are some locksmiths that may be able to program these today. Not sure if they can do it with you having an already programmed key and of they can clone it.
Don't own any Apple stuff so no help there.
