What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?

I just bought a Onewheel GT, learning to “shred the Gnar” without breaking any bones in the process! This thing is so much fun but I don’t feel confident on it yet.

My son just got a https://amzn.to/3Ag3uJR Segway Ninebot today, a gift from his (other) grandparents for his bday. I rode it for 5 minutes and I'm very impressed. "Why don't I have one of these?" It goes at a quick clip on flat ground, great controls, powerful front brake, Bluetooth, turn signals, lockable (electronically) via phone app or handlebar controller sequence.

My son put it together, charged it, and was gone. I didn't see him for two hours.

Anyway, here's what I did today:

Nice! I haven’t tried a Segway but I believe it’s similar technology to the onewheel. Very important to buy all the safety equipment available including pads and wrist guards etc. a full face MTB helmet is a good idea also. I put 27 kilometers on my onewheel on Friday and the only thing that hurt afterwards was my face from smiling the whole time!

I have owned a Sansui 7070 Stereo Receiver since the 1980s. It was a pawn shop purchase. Lately it has had tuning issues and would get noisy after powered on for a few minutes. I thought it might have failing capacitors, which do not age well. That is the limit of my electronic troubleshooting knowledge.
After i removed the cover (Genuine Simulated Walnut), I found a thick layer of dust inside. My first task to even get a good look at every thing was to clean off the dust.
As often happens, I had to visit the hardware store to buy an air blow off nozzle. And since the nozzle they had was not very long, I had to modify it with pipe fittings.
Then the blow out of the decades of dust - OUTSIDE.
Then a test of the unit in my garage. But first I had to find wire to connect some old speakers (from a garage sale) in the garage. Yes! It worked better, but only very local stations. I added a wire for a temporary antenna.
Not a very good antenna, but the stereo played the rest of the afternoon with out problems.
Most likely all the dust in the air gap capacitor tuner was messing with the ability to tune and hold a station.

I shut off the house power and cleaned all the neutrals in my fuse box. I had three circuits which lifted from 90V to 125V

Yikes. Budgeting for a new box next year

ZZZAP!! Years ago, a really good electrician evaluated our panel and just shook his head. "Did they use parts from an old submarine? Did they get this stuff from the Wilma Theater (an ancient decrepit theater and apartment tower here)." "See these scorch marks? They could have happened a month ago or 20 years ago, I don't know."

I am trying to re-glue three wooden dining chairs before the pack of in-laws comes tomorrow. And of course my strap clamp has broken. And of course I have no long woodworking clamps. So they are on their backs with stacks of heavy books on them (not the in-laws, the chairs).
