The heated rear seats are rare, I'd buy them right away if you were in Europe. If you have the time, pull at least the wiring harness, switches and possibly the heater mats.
The center console is easy to get out.

If you own one of these, I'd keep body panels, doors, headlights, taillights and alot of the smaller stuff.

Definitely pull the MAF if working, and the ECC (AC control unit)

I can get these from CO to Ny for free. And probably to Austria later this year.

I think just the seat bottoms are heated? That console will be harder but isn’t it just the rear switch plate you need ?

I would imagine there is a dedicated harness, and being a Euro model it may be specific to that market. I don't remember seeing a lot of loose unused connectors back there.
Harvesting the heater elements would mean skinning the cloth off; not a lot of work, but a bit better than for such rare stuff going to the crusher.
Now if it had the desirable heated third row...

It’s a us market car. It was just purchased overseas and spent its first few years in Germany. But it’s got the correct speedometer and other North American specific parts.

I’ve seen the directions for an early s70 with heated rear seats so I’m just assuming the 850 is designed in a similar manner.

I like how Volvos are wired. At least each component usually goes back to the wiring harness/block or whatever so if you follow it you can unplug the whole thing. I noticed they do that with power for the amp etc.

There’s probably a fuse too for these too huh?

Ah, just the seat bottoms are heated. that makes everything easier.

The comment about the Center console was only to point put that the removal of the wiring harness ist not very complex.

Thank you for the offer, Steve. I might grab that chance if @coop is willing to pull the parts

It looks like it’s going to be nice the next few days so I can pull them. Looks like getting the seat back off is tricky but I did see that the heaters pn where available at a few dealerships state side still and like $26
