There is a code within the VIN for the plastic fuel tank I believe. 64 comes to mind.

Update:
It turns out the tow truck damaged the fuel line from the filter towards the engine and it's leaking fuel. I am trying to use a universal kit to fix the broken line, but its not working well. The OEM fuel hose may be nylon with rubber over top. I am looking into replacing the entire line and now am wondering how to access the line that goes from the filter up into the car towards the engine. Do I have to take the carpet out (the seats too maybe) to access some kind of access panel?

Go to a junk yard to:
1. Get a good fuel line
2. To get to know the anatomy. Fuel line runs below car chassis, so no need to remove carpet. All you need is car on wood ramps or jack stands and you will see.

PS: cutting and splicing nylon fuel line is an art.

Yes on the seats, but before removing rear seats disconnect the battery or it will set an SRS fault.
Pump access hatch is on the driver side under the seat.
It also requires removing some of the side plastic panel beneath rear side window so torx drivers are needed.
You're in MA, Hollands pick n' pull is in Billerica, easy to get to from I 93. they have plenty of volvos , prices are very cheap.
