Diagnosing coolant leak on 2015.5 S60

Post by tflesui »

Can anyone please help in diagnosing this coolant leak? As you can see I was forced to add dye as the leak is fairly slow and was hard to identify. There is a light coolant aroma inside which led me to believe the leak was from the heater core, but pulling back the passenger carpet, I could not find anything.

From the pictures it's pretty clear where the leak is but now I'm not sure what part I should be looking to fix. I'm assuming a hose but could it just be a clamp? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

I've got the same leak! Diagnosing currently...

Here goes a YouTube video that looks like the same issue... https://youtu.be/AxCvSsmUMSw?feature=shared

FCP Euro Part, Volvo HVAC Heater Hose - Genuine Volvo 8641078, https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... o-31338581

I'll do a bit more investigating and report back my findings

That fitting is terrible. Had to replace it twice now.

Good trick for getting that quick connect off, angled needle nose can help pinch both sides since you tend to not be able to grab access both sides. Or zip ties to help compress.

Full hose assembly is 8641078

Also found just pulling the battery and battery tray out make access to the rear connection easier.

Thank you for the help! I was able to drain the coolant, remove the faulty part, and fit the new part without major issues. I used a vacuum filler from Harbor Freight (per the FCP Euro and other forum guidance).

Thus far I am not measuring any leaks and the level has remained steady.
