Update: I repeated the timing process. In addition to the locking of the camshafts, I also locked the crankshaft with the specialized tool. The time markings were not off, however, I have measure the angle difference between intake and exhaust camshaft, and detected 3.5 degrees difference (not sure whether this is something related with the VVT play). I meticulously torqued the VVT sprockets (it seem I have over torqued these the first time). I also replaced again the camshaft position sensor giving the signal with a japanese OE. The ProPartsSweden I put was not locking the connector after I push it in place.

Overall, the engine light is gone by it self. No need of erasing the light with the scanner. I will be testing the car and hope the light is not coming back.

It is quite possible. However, I cannot rule out some minimal mistiming.

I also had a bad experience no far ago with the VVT solenoid. I replace the failing one with a febi bilstein, and the check engine light keep coming sporadically. Then, I replaced the FB solenoid with an original Volvo, and no more engine codes.

I am learning the hard way. Next time, only original parts.

I have nobproblem using some aftermarket mechanical part(radiator-nissens, steering shaft-PPS(made in Sweden and has all the same marking as oem, brakes- textar, akebono, bosch...) but with anything that related to electronics I think we are way better with used oem vs new oem(if available/able to afford)
