98 v70 air con /heater issues

Post by Andrewoakland »

You guys set me straight before so I'm back. I acquired this 98 v70 station wagon 2 years ago. Air conditioner had only rarely worked since I got it. (Would usually blow uncooled air). Within the past months the blower itself has failed altogether. It has an ecc unit and whether the switch is on AUT or set to highest fan speed, or anywhere in between, fan not coming on at all. Any ideas? Thanks

Fan life is about 20 years. You can test by removing glove box and applying 12 volts direct if you are electrically inclined.

Check fuses first of course.

The aftermarket TYC is decent and is about $100

Once again abscate you set me straight. I replaced the blower (TYC) and the resistor (Volvo OEM on that one) and the blower is back up and running. Air con though takes forever to get cool (like 10 minutes) and then is not really all that cool. Where do you think I should start?

Thanks Again!
