Hey all! I've gotten so much help from this group over the years of owning 3 Volvos. Now I need to ask a question.
While under the car yesterday I noticed some play between the driveshaft/viscous coupling and the rear diff. I'll try attaching a video to show you. There's about a 16th of a turn free play. Is this normal? Or a problem?
Thanks for your input.

As you have an 02 XC70, you have viscous coupling rather than the Haldex that came in 03 models. The VC unit has fluid clutches in it. It will have some play in it. As long as you have no noise or vibration and the AWD is working I would not worry about it. You will also get some back lash from the rear diff as well. What I would also check is the front end. A lot of movement there could be a sign of angle gear wear.
