Can you change your brake fluid by yourself? If so... how do you do it?

Yes. Bleed it out of the calipers at each wheel. Make sure you keep the master cylinder reservoir full with new fluid. Bleed the calpers until new fluid flows out of each one. You might want to have a mechanically-inclined friend help you if you haven't done it before.

Here's a tutorial: http://www.popularmechanics.com/automot ... 13448.html
.

SOLD - 2001 Volvo S80 T6: Mobil 1 Oil & Synthetic ATF, Brake Performance drilled and slotted front rotors, Akebono Euro Ceramic pads and Yokohama Avid V4S tires, 91K miles.

That's a good tutorial....let me suggest buying the ATE Super Blue brake fluid sold at www.fcpgroton.com This way you know when the new fluid comes through and the old is out...a change of color! Next time, use the Super Amber- plus it's the right stuff for your car!
Click Here for the Super Blue Brake Fluid
The 2.8T and the T6 use the same fluid.
