Help, Advice, Owners' Discussion and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's stylish, distinctive P2 platform cars sold as model years 2001-2007 (North American market year designations).
. Update: The part in question in my car is the tensioner.
Yesterday my kid sends me a video of the car making a squealing noise while wife was driving? Video quality was poor so can barely hear anything. This happened first thing in the morning. When they returned in the afternoon they said they couldn't really turn the steering wheel. Today with the nice 60 degree weather I ventured out and took a look. Saw a good quantity of really small bits of rubber from the accessory belt and it is looked loose. I think it's the tensioner with the bearing and wheel spun off? I believe it's the one in the FCP video? Two question?
. 1) How to replace if it's the tensioner (IN VIDEO)?
2) Car has 158K miles. Needs front suspension work as it clunks. Needs alternator as Advance Auto said diode is fluctuating. Needs PCV as it doesn't inflate nor have suction. Radiator is leaking but not overheating. Will get the low coolant message every week and it's right at the min level. Needs tire sensors per dash message center. Needs fender alarm module per message center. Has new tires with 7K miles and shows little wear. New turbo cartridge Feb last year with 7K miles now and car runs well. Is it worth it to do all the work or sell it as a fixer upper / mechanic special?

wow - The entire tensioner wheel is missing! The gear can be purchased separate from the spring body but it looks like you may have some damage from the belt rubbing.

Yes, I ordered a new belt and tensioner. Volvo and 7/31/2006 is the manufacturing date on the old part .
