HI All, advice needed please,
I've got a 2005 V70 D5, bit of a learning curve having spent 15 odd years in 850s and P1 V70s.
I noticed the other day quite by accident strange behavior from my parking lights. If the car is switched off and you try the parking lights straightway nothing happens, no lights and the green light on the switch is out, but leave it for say 5 minutes and all is good. With engine running, they work as expected. All other light functions work without issue. It's as if there is a delay for a few minutes before parking lights will engage after switch off, is this normal P2 behaviour.
Leave the car a while, overnight etc and they work first time.
I have changed the switch with a known working one which made no difference.
Any suggestions on what to check next?
TIA
PS the 2 sidelight bulbs in the headlamps and 1 side marker bulbs are out, just waiting for the weather to improve so I can pop bumper.off and get.lights out to replace.

Strangely I just had a similar experience on our 06 V70. I had replaced all the tail light bulbs to try to fix a brake bulb issue, and based on passed experience decided to remove the whole lenses to check for burnt tracks I've experienced on 2 P1 wagons.
I also removed the battery to pull out the center dash following a warning it can trip the airbag system with the battery left attached.
On refitting the battery ground, I had the 'boss' work the lights to make sure all worked. Not a single light came on!! Fiddled with the ignition and the front turn signals and DRL's came on. More fiddling of the ignition and headlight switch and then the rear lights came back on and then the parking and turn signal lights. I have never had that happen before and wonder if it was caused by doing the Volvo, ' Leave the key in Position II when removing and re-attaching the battery. I have never had this issue not leaving the key in posn II, and had only done it this time because I had to put the gearshift in D to give enough room to remove the center stack.
