Hello Newbie with suspension woes

So my 2016 XC90 T8 R-design is having issues with the suspension. I do have a good scanner and got codes of C110C13 and B104193. The first code points to the front left strut but unsure what the other code really is? Car rides OK and I can lift and deflate OK. Sometimes though I swear the right rear looks lower. If I change from hybrid to sport or vice versa it seems to level out. I hate to pay the dealer rates but may just throw in the towel and pay for diagnostics. Anyone have similar issues?

Hello. I honestly doubt we will be able to help you with this one. SPA is a newer platform and air suspension is also a premium option that not much of owners here have.
It appears that you are quite equipped with capable tool and you know a lot about cars(you would be at the dealer lot already if that would not be true).
The second code is likely the code for compressor problem itself since B104177 was the recall from volvo about suspension pump(plus extended warranty to 7 years from in-service date).
IMHO, everything with air suspension is great for the duration of warranty. Think what other problems car has and if you want to keep it. If you are keeping it- start with front left strut and fix that solenoid. Next, assure you dont have any air leakage in the system to trip that code. Dealer will likely charge you $200 for diagnostic and still recommend to replace entire pump(500) plus labor($200-300). You can get to the local dealer and with the box of donuts ask for code interpretation vs buy online access to volvo database(i think daily use is available)

I only know that in the Land Rover world (LR3), there are pumps, accumulators, a pressure tank, check valves, hose junction / distribution blocks (at each corner and front & back), and height sensors at each corner. Then the strut itself, which is relatively simple, you just connect the hose.

I don't have anything that reads codes for a Volvo that new. All I can add is I went to see a 2017 XC90 at a BMW dealer that had taken it in trade. It had just over 110,000 miles (186kkm). It was one owner from new. Car was an R-design model which is what attracted me to it.

First thing I noticed it the front of the car was sitting lower than it should. After test driving it I took the Vin # and went to a Volvo dealer. My buddy pulled the recent history as it had been serviced there for the last 5 years. The history showed the rear shocks had recently been replaced and the compressor as well. Hopefully that may have been warranted but not sure Canadian cars got the 7 year warranty. Spoke to the service manager and explained what I had seen and he said likely the front airbags needed replacing as well.

Your car being a 2016, it out-with the 7 year extended warranty. All I can tell you is that the rear airbags and the compressor with fitting was in the range of $4500 CDN (about $3400 US). I ran away from that car as the reason the owners had traded to the BMW dealer was because the supercharger had left the building (about $4000 CDN), the sunroof had cracked (leaking sunroof seal issue) another $1500 CDN, and it had just had the full steering rack replaced recently as well at around $3500 CDN. The dealer service manager strongly advise against buying any SPA XC90 prior to 2020 when several upgrades were made, but ideally post 2025 as they had a major engine upgrade to hopefully stop the supercharger rate of failures. That was enough to scare me out of the SPA XC90's as I cannot afford a 2025 for about another 8 years or so!
