I bought a 2010 S80 D5 (151kw) twin turbo few days ago and decided to sell my 850 as it is.

If i can't sell it untill registration expires(02.2027) i'll try to fix it or part it out.

Sadly...a D5 doesn't exist at U.S market and...as far as i read....diesels were never reached U.S.

I'll still be here and try to help like always....but i will need to move to UK forum since they have a plenty of D5 there.

Diesel Volvos did make it to North America. Not sure in the US but there were 240 diesels sold here in Canada. But those are the only ones I am aware of and it was in the early 1980's. I seem to recall they used a VW motor. I read a person claiming there were 740/760 diesels sold here but I have never heard/seen one. I suppose it may have been possible. I have not seen a 240 diesel for sale in a long time.

With the 25 year rule, it may be now possible to bring a P80 diesel into the US. I nearly bought one back in about 1998. It was brand new and had an auto trans. It went really well and had an amazing fuel mileage compared to gasoline powered cars. I got lured away by a half price one year old T5 wagon in red.

I visited s80 II forum here and no D5s there.
2.5T,3.2 and 4.4 V8 only.

You have nice things like 2.5T,3.2 & 4.4 V8 but here in Serbia taxes are insane for those engines.
Even up to 2.5 is madness... but acceptable...since 2.521cm3(2.5T) is double tax than up to 2.5.
3.2 is triple from 2.5 and 4.4 is insane.
