Low RPM on manual transmission V70

Post by violinist »

Hi Everyone,

On 2000 V70 with manual transmission, RPM drops to near 500 when the car is at speeds below 15-20 MPH and the gear is in neutral. Once the car comes to a COMPLETE stop ( but not before), the RPM reverts back to normal ~850. Also if the car speed is above 20, the RPM is normal. This problem is worse duirng colder weather.

Any ideas on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

pull the battery for 30 min, idle is a "learned" function, so hopefully that fixes it...

also, plugs, wires, distrib, clean idle air controller valve.

if still nothing check exhaust for leaks and 02 sensors.
