central locking..1997 volvo 850 t5 cd estate

Post by mel2079 »

Hi,
Since my last post I have managed to get the radio working....but still have probs.with the central locking.....have disconnected what I believe to be a faulty boot lock as it will not lock on the remote fob but will unlock...have disconnected the drivers door electrics as it flattens my battery even though I have tried two new locks and actually replaced the repaired original...the other 3 doors work fine....have no interior lights operating on the drivers door so obviously disconnected with the lock loom.
Really dont know what to look for or even where the remote relay is situated that I might change that .

The central locking / delayed interior lighting relay is relay 205/206. The deadlock relay - if you have one - is relay 202. The relays are in the lower portion of the central electrical unit. To get to it you need to remove the lower dash panel on the driver's side of the car. It is mounted high on the firewall directly below the upper fuse box.

If only one of the buttons does not work it could be a loose solder connection inside the fob. Small, hard to see, use magnifying glass. Case attached, see arrow. Easy to fix with micro soldering tip or hot pen. Paul W M
