Yeah, I don't know what this part is actually called, but I do know that it doesn't seem to be available new anymore.

It's the rotating plastic piece that lives under the steering wheel that has the ribbon wire for the airbag. It also seems to have something to do with the turn signal return function. Mine, and the ones I have found so far in the junkyard, all have broken mounting tabs. So I harvested one and tried making new tabs. Worked out great as far as fixing the doohickey unit so it could be reinstalled, but I'm going to have to do this again, since the one I harvested and fixed came from a '98 and I need a '99-'00. Turn signal works beautifully, but I had to leave the airbag disconnected since apparently the plug was a little different between those years. SRS light is on, but I'll deal with that when I get the correct doohickey unit. In the mean time I at least have working turn signals. I had to figure out where the center rotating piece clocked correctly in the housing since I had the locking screw out, but that was no issue.

This repair should work on any one of these units. Surprisingly solid. Not going to fail. Two thumbs up for J.B. Weld :)

Small wooden form with wire reinforcing for the screw hole. Scotch Tape for form release.

Yeah, that's the driver air bag clock-spring. I needed one recently and scored one from local PnP; it was perfectly intact. That copper ring around the perimeter is for your horn button. Didn't realize it also clicks off your turn signal..?

Would think these would pop up on ebay but don't see any right now. Next time I'm at PnP will try and score one for you..

Your profile says 96 850 Turbo so that's what I assumed you were working on..
